Artificial voice box device supported by toy maker

Art has inspired several engineering wonders at mammoth scales. However, the innovation story of a toy maker, helping a Doctor to create an surgical device for helping  throat cancer patients is something really incredible.

Dr.Vishal Rao, an oncologist based in Bangalore wanted to do something about the high cost incurred by throat cancer patients who have to regularly have their artificial voice
box.

He took his idea to a toy maker who built a prototype in few hours which once tested ended up as the “classic” solution.
Inspired by science and supported by arts, he designed a device which reduced the cost of artificial voice box replacement from $300 to less than a $1.
