At 3:12 a.m., an amber light appeared on Lena’s screen.
Lena is a Wind Tech Engineer monitoring Windmill turbines in the North Sea. One of the blades was showing an unusual pattern in its condition-monitoring data. It wasn’t a failure, but it was different from what the system expected to see from a healthy blade.
For Lena, the question wasn’t simply whether the blade had a problem. The harder question was what to do about it.
